Great Barrier Reef Marine Park & Whitsunday Islands.

Map Whitsunday Islands Great Barrier Reef Queensland

Whitsunday Islands map and images highlight some of the Whitsunday's iconic
locations that guests travelling with Explore Whitsundays can experience.

Langford Beach & Reef is a Sand Spit which is
accessible when tides are mid to low.  At high
tide it is underwater.
Langford Reef - The Fringing Corals grow close to
the beach which means it is easy to access for
snorkelling
There are 74 Islands in the Whitsundays, however we think that the best part is that 66 of the islands are still in their natural state with no major building developments.  At most you will find a look out point, or a toilet facility, or interpretive signage.

All this means that sailing around the Whitsundays is still a relative voyage of discovery!  The islands are pristine and still look very much as they did when Captain Cook sailed through and named them in June 1770.

On many of the islands, Coral Reefs grow right from the beach which is really good if you are nervous about snorkelling, because you can walk in from the beach and the coral reefs are just metres in.

We are confident the photos you take on your Whitsunday tour will be highlights in your photo collection, whether the images are beaches, islands, sunsets, coral reefs or marine life.

Hill Inlet and Whitehaven Beach.  Yachts anchor in Tongue Bay, then take a guided walk to the lookout

Hill Inlet Beach - After a visit to the
lookout, guests walk down to the beach
Lookout over Hill Inlet & Whitehaven Beach
There are fantastic viewing platforms

Whitsundays - anchored in Nara Inlet on Hook Island.

Nara Inlet is a fiord like setting, where yachts sail right up into
the narrows.  Surrounded by large heavily wooded hills makes
for a beautiful scene which is well protected from winds and swell.

Nara Inlet is home to Aboriginal Drawings of the Ngaro People.
