In December 2010, the Oprah show visited the Whitsundays.  Oprah hovered in a Helicopter over Heart Reef in the centre of the Great Barrier Reef, before landing on Whitehaven Beach for a BBQ and Party.  

Oprah said... "Whitehaven is really white, a little haven tucked away in the Coral Seas"

Kurtis Stone, Australia's famous chef cooked a seafood gourmet for the group.

Some of the comments included: "this is sand like no other sand in the world", "I can see why they call this place home"
